We're spending the weekend away in a caravan, we've had a leisurely day, strange morning where I was the only one up whilst even the 6 y/o had a lie in. We've been for a little walk, had burgers and then we've spent the afternoon and evening relaxing in the van. We've all had showers and in our jammies early. Just had a lovely tea and now we're snuggling down to watch a movie and then probably an early night again. We don't tend to go out in the evening we use these little weekends to just relax and spend time as a family.

*Have you all had a lovely day? What are you all up to this evening?x
*
I hope what ever it is you have a lovely night x

I've been at work all day. I usually quite like my quiet Saturdays, but a client passed away today and it's hung over me all afternoon. Hanging over me into the evening too if I'm honest, my thoughts are very much with his lovely wife and her family who I hope are supporting her as best they can.

DH bought DS to meet me as I finished up for the day though. He's bought him a pop up tunnel thing which he thinks is absolutely hysterical.

DS is now in bed, and I'm sat with DH on the sofa eating bread and butter pudding.

Sounds like you're having a lovely weekend OP Smile

I'm quite poorly, the kids are bored and grumpy, the house needs a good tidy and we have guests coming to stay tomorrow. DH has come home from work and says he's going to fix everything. I'm going to bed and wait for my lungs to chill the fuck out.

Mine was shit. Selling house, first viewing tomorrow. H polished the wood floors. Looked great. 4 year old went running in, slipped, fell, cut chin open. Afternoon in A&E, five stitches. Poor lamb.

Had a bittersweet day, travelled a round trip of 300miles to scatter a relatives ashes. Was a beautiful day and met family I didn’t know about. Kids behaved really well. Just had a Mac Donald’s, kids in bed. Having a well needed glass of wine and watching big brother on catch up. Feel peaceful.

Doing jobs as we’re both away for work most of next week. Beds changed and laundry done. Pest control and leaf clearing done. Flowers refreshed and cars cleaned.
Then into town for new shoes (him) new bottle of scent (me) and a Boots big shop for supplies cupboard then bumped into friends so went for lunch.
Son phoned to say he and his girlfriend were coming for supper.

A gentle day.

I looked after my 2 (nearly 3) yo neice all day.

I loved it and I love this age. They just say the funniest things 😍.

I totally forgot how knackering it is looking after a toddler and how 'on' you have to be constantly!!!

Took her home about 6pm as she didn't want to go home and wanted to stay with me and dd 😊.

Kudos to people in their 40s who do this every day, cos I am fookin knackered!!

tillytrotter1 · 13/10/2018 21:31

I've spent a lot of the day thinking it's Sunday! People shouldn't get married on Friday!
I spent a lot of time trying to persuade the grass to return from the desert wasteland still there since Summer, lots of grass seed and topsoil seems to be doing the job but it's very slow growing.

RadioDorothy · 13/10/2018 21:37

Had a lovely day buying stuff to start new bathroom, having a sort out in my office/nail room, and reorganising my storage space.

Most enjoyable day after a very, very stressful week with work. Sadly my IBS disagrees, and I spent some time shitting myself inside out in a pub toilet after eating a panini. As a gaggle of semi-drunken teenagers got ready at the sinks.

Thank god they were playing loud music and singing along, that's all I can say.

Poodles1980 · 13/10/2018 21:53

Went out with dh for dinner while my Mum babysat. We had a lovely night which was long overdue.

FrancesFryer · 13/10/2018 21:56

I've spent the day helping to run a martial arts competition. I'm quite glad today's over.
Tomorrow is more of the same but hopefully less stressful

GrumpyOldMare · 13/10/2018 22:02

Busy.
Was meant to be a day off but had to work instead - we seem to be always short staffed! Two of us got pleaded with to come in today!
Can't remember the last time I had a weekend off unless you count my week off!

RedFallLeaf · 14/10/2018 13:03

What a lovely thread.
Mine was good - chilled then started a bug clean at 5pm. Finished it off today.
House is lovely and clean. Makes me happy and keeps my head decluttered having the house fresh.
Looking forward to the week ahead x

Thank you @mumof2sarah Smile I need to stop getting so emotionally involved really - then I'd stop going to pieces every time someone passed away. Much easier said than done though.

Hope you're having a lovely Sunday Smile
