To think WTAF have they done to Mastermind?

I have just watched Mastermind, and they have clearly let some bright new designer loose on it! The set is all blue lights and looks like cheap daytime TV, and the candidates walk on, one at a time, through a blue lit tunnel - and the contestants don’t get to see each other’s specialist rounds either.

Then they all troop on, after the first round, and watch all the general knowledge rounds. I just don’t get it. I don’t see the need for all the secrecy, or for all the cheapy blue lights on the set.

The questions are still just as tough, I think - I just don’t get why hey had to tinker with the set.

Oh god they haven't have they? Are they trying to make it into Who Wants to Be A Millionaire?

None of that is there at the recording, it's, or wasn't when it was made at Granada, a pretty tacky looking set, staple guns at the ready . The lighting is put on afterwards by the computer people. It used to be in the same studio aa Jeremy Klyl in the morning, the staff used to tell us all kinds of stories about the very different morning audience. Between the two sets of rounds they had to remain there while a naff 'comedian' told the audience jokes and Kit Kats were distributed!

Kyle, obviously!

The questions have been dumbed down too.

The questions are still just as tough the questions are for morons, and have been for years. It's "how many sides are there to a triangle?" territory.
