To wonder if counselling will help me

Sorry, I know not strictly an AIBU but......I have some issues in my life that despite knowing the rational anwers to them, I really struggle and it's having a massive affect on my life and I realise that if I need to ever
find peace and happiness I have to address them.

I have a counselling session booked but the thing is.....I know the answers to my problems, I just can't enforce them and put them into practice. So if I know what I should do, how will counselling help. I can't imagine she will tell me anything I haven't told myself, so I guess I'm just intrigued as to what help it will be. Has anyone felt the same but had counselling and found it made a difference?

Yes it did make a difference because the therapist made me consider things from a different angle and addressed the background to my inertia - reasons for it and challenged my assumptions.

If she's good she'll help, I think.
