Within seconds of starting two different threads, I was accused of being a Daily Mail journo, being a government agency and manufacturing/selling doormats . You would have to know me to know how unlikely any of those scenarios are, of course.

Not knowing what I'm talking about in the field I am a highly paid expert in (obviously not all threads I'm on) and other "experts" are clearly making it up as they are wrong - not just different opinion or different approaches but just plain wrong.

The thing is though OP journos do come on here and start (What they deem to be) innocuous threads. There was one recently where the OP accidentally cut and pasted her editors demands along with his/her OP. It does make me laugh that users of a public forum are surprised that their posts may end up on another equally public forum. The OP of PB was surprised and upset when her provocatively titled and sexually explicit thread went mega viral. I've started to notice more and more threads where it's clear that the OP wants it picked up by some tacky news/gossip outlet.

I was accused of working in PR for M&S for asking which collection targeted which demographic ( per una etc). And then my thread derailed and no answered so I still don't know.

I was accused of not actually knowing people called a certain name. It wasn't even a ridiculous or unusual one.
