Does anyone else feel guilty for being a "Lazy mum"???
My husband and I work crazy hours, he's been on nights this weekend and it's mine off, I have embraced it like never before... I've not touched the housework, ate crappy food all weekend, shopped, watched loads of rubbish tv......and had one of the best weekends I've had in a long time!
For the record DH is a really chilled out lovely man and would probably love to have more weekends like this, DC (4 of them) have gone to bed so chilled, I'm now trying not to go into panic mode about what I'm gonna need to find the time to do....
What sort of weekends do others have?

I’m having a long weekend break in Seville with my daughters! Hot sunshine, jugloads of Sangria, stunning architecture, old palaces, fab gardens, the air heavy with the smell of jasmine, sitting eating truffled octopus as horse drawn carriages roll past... utter bliss!

I was at work yesterday from 4.30 a.m. till 4.30 p.m. Drove straight to baths for club skinny dipping. Home for drinks and dinner. Today has been coffee at Costa, shopping, piano practice, washing up, laundry, pub and dinner. So far !

Yesterday morning dd and I saw the giants in Liverpool followed by dinner at Yo Sushi. Saw my mum in the afternoon then watched tv in the evening. This morning I woke full of a cold so I've only got out of bed to get food and drink and use the toilet.

Mostly recovering from the flu jab! What a waste of a weekend Smile

Littlecaf · 07/10/2018 22:10

Saw a friend for lunch in a nice pub yesterday, despite the pouring rain the DCs behaved themselves mostly & we looked at ducks in the local wetlands centre. Today soft play this morning, Tescos, then a walk on the seafront for the last ice cream of the summer.

DP did all the washing (love him) and I cooked roast.

Have you toured the Alcazar gardens Babdoc ? It's the mutt's nuts. And the Archives of the Indies (North America, not Temple of Doom Grin) that Columbus collected etc. Fantastic bit of culture.

Ahem...back to the topic: We had rugby yesterday, 7yo ds' first ever match he scored two tries, very happy. Today we did a 10km walk down a mountain, some parts with ropes on the walls, and two wobbly wooden bridges. The dog didn't like them, so scaled the walls like a mountain goat! When we got to the bottom there was a waterfall and some lovely pools to splash about in. DH swam Shock cos he's a nutter!

We all came to bed at 10 shattered Grin

I had visitors yesterday, so didnt do any house work. So, today I did minimal housework, a tiny food shop and some washing and ironing - Just enough for the week. I have spent the rest looking at the front and back gardens that so desperately need mowing and weeding, and trying to ignore the fact that my car looks like its been doing a rally race in 2 foot deep mud, theres always next week Blush

mishfish · 07/10/2018 22:56

We don’t usually get out much but managed a family trip to the natural history museum yesterday which was fab. Planned to go swimming today after the youngests nap, but just before she woke up the middle one fell asleep. Quite needed the lazy day though as yesterday was so busy

pumpkinpie01 · 07/10/2018 22:57

We are trying to have a cheap weekend so did stuff that was virtually free - swimming yesterday then dog walk down the woods and Chinese takeaway for tea. Today we did big walk up an enormous well known hill very proud of DC (5) no moaning at all hecteally embraced it had nice picnic at the top. Got back DH watched football at home with his dad while I did a roast. Nice weekend

itsbritneybiatches · 07/10/2018 23:06

Saw the giants Friday.

Took younger SS and DH to the Man U game. I waited round for three hours till it finished. I had the best time. Went to M and S in Warrington and got some nice picky bits for tea. Spent an hour on eBay. Got some lovely bits.

Today I blitzed the house. Baby helped me. We had a row because I cleaned more floor than her. Proper tears and everything. She's five.

No am finishing some red wine reading the dolphin thread.

It's fucking great Grin

SocksRock · 07/10/2018 23:17

Ran the Oxford half marathon. Now wondering why I booked a loft inspection for tomorrow as I sure as shit won’t be able to climb a ladder without LOTS of painkillers...

purplecorkheart · 07/10/2018 23:19

My brother and I took my parents away for the weekend. It was one of those trips that everything could go wrong went wrong (I was the jinks, it been a bad October for me) despite this we had a good weekend. Lots of wandering around and plenty of sea air.

mamaduckbone · 07/10/2018 23:19

We saw my mum yesterday and did a few jobs at hers. Today was mostly sport with the dcs but managed a quick walk and a pint with friends later.
We were supposed to have a lovely homemade pie for dinner but said walk and pint put paid to that so it was lasagne with sauce that was already made in the freezer.
I love weekends without much planned and absolutely don’t feel guilty if we manage one.

Littlelambpeep · 07/10/2018 23:20

Sounds great op. Self care and down time is very important.

We chose wallpaper and accessories

Watched a crappy film with wine Grin

National Trust visitBrewCake

Decorated the house (where is the pumpkin emoji?)

itsbritneybiatches · 07/10/2018 23:29

Sailinghappy · 07/10/2018 23:37

Yesterday was early salsa class, swimming with dc, family lunch out then we all took the dog out for a long walk and hot chocolate in a local pub. Cuddled up with DH to watch TV after dc in bed.
Today we did early gym session, swim with dc then big family gathering with lots of games/ food... dc straight in bath and bed when home, cuddled up with DH again and TV ha!
