So i got what i thought was a clean bowl out of the dishwasher and served up some chocolate cake to dd.

Dp has just appeared horrified and asked if i used the bowl. Err yes. Did i wash i? No i thought it was clean. It "looked" clean. Well it wasnt. Apparently its been festering in dd's room for "years" according to dp.

This was about 4pm i guess.

Theres nothing i can do is there other than wait for the vomit tsunami?

Dd is 13 btw.

This makes very little sense

You served up ice cream. The bowl must have looked fine.

Whatsforu · 06/10/2018 19:14

13 years old? I don't think you have much to worry about.

LEMtheoriginal · 06/10/2018 19:14

What ice cream

Unless it had mould growing on it I wouldn’t worry.

If you didn't see any visible dirt/ food then I'm sure they'll be fine

LEMtheoriginal · 06/10/2018 19:15

No mould and it "looked" clean.

Surely though you know if the dishes in your dishwasher have been cleaned or are waiting to be cleaned.

Candlelights2345 · 06/10/2018 19:16

She’ll probably be fine. This week My cat licked the underneath of the cold water tap (apparently) and my DS13 saw it but ‘forgot’ to clean it Confused. We are all still alive.

CountessVonBoobs · 06/10/2018 19:17

Do you have health anxiety? Why would she be poisoned? Most bugs grow very badly on anything apart from humans. She'll almost csrtainly be fine.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 06/10/2018 19:18

Oh, bugger. It might help teach her not to let things fester I suppose. Or it'll give her an immune system of steel.

When I've eaten something dodgy I've always felt off fairly quickly, within 3 hours, so you'll probably know soon enough.

LeGrandeFluff · 06/10/2018 19:18

Meh. 13yo is old enough to clean up her own vomit. Also good chance to teach her a life lesson about cleanliness. Grin

dementedpixie · 06/10/2018 19:21

She really will be fine then if it looked clean

Notrightatall · 06/10/2018 19:28

So dp new it had been there for a long time and never thought to remove it or tell dd to take dishes out of her room and made sure she did it... nice

Inexperiencedandperplexed · 06/10/2018 19:29

Sorry I meant chocolate cake

Fact is you served up cake on a plate. You would have noticed if it was frosst

Inexperiencedandperplexed · 06/10/2018 19:30
