To have shamed another mother (lighthearted)

CatLadyToddlerMother · 06/10/2018 12:19

At the packing shelf in Aldi earlier with DD aged 3 sat in the trolley munching on a banana to keep her quiet while I packed.

Another mother walks past with a little boy who must have only been 5 or so and the mother says to him "Ah you shame my Billy* that girls sat their eating a banana and you're stuffing your face with chocolate making me look a bad mother" then she laughed and they walked off.

AIBU to have shamed her like this? Grin

will add she didn't see me packing the bags with crisps, haribo and chocolate which will be shared with DD

*obviously not his real name

🍌 oooo your brave giving your dd so much sugar, I wish I could get my little Narnia to eat a banana. She only eats quinoa and organic blueberries.
🤣🤣🤣

StealthPolarBear · 06/10/2018 12:44

You don't give your child bananas do you, they're full of sugar and nasties.
My child only eats exotic fruit grown with unicorn dung and watered with unicorn tears. And only in small amounts as a treat.

StealthPolarBear · 06/10/2018 12:44

Birthdays etc

Thatssomebadhatharry · 06/10/2018 12:55

Surely not EVERY birthday PolarBear, don’t you follow a Jupiter calendar? We only celebrate birthdays once every 12 years Grin

SodTheBloodyLotOfThem · 06/10/2018 12:56

Oh my word you shop in.supermarkets and let your child eat bananas? Food miles etc! My Persephone-Moonbeam only eats the unscrubbed carrots we grow on our smallholding.

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 06/10/2018 13:00

I hope you paid for that banana before your DD ate it! Shock Or were you going to only pay for the skin?

SneakyGremlins · 06/10/2018 13:03

Fun fact, I know someone who had to be forcefully persuaded to not call their child MoonBeam.

CatLadyToddlerMother · 06/10/2018 13:16

I accept I am UR for giving her a banana Grin

Good. Now go and scrub some lentils - feed your child healthily dammit.

I’m not sure Aldi is the sort of place you can ‘shame’ anyone. Move to Waitrose and have her chew Duchy of Cornwall celery. (pronounced CELL-ry).
