Detox foot pads?

£10 for ten. Apparently these will suck nasty toxins out of your body through the soles of your feet. I am still laughing at this but has anyone tried them? Successfully? What did your 'toxins' look like and did you feel it had improved your health?

Snake oil...your feet sweat overnight this causes the pad to react and give an effect of something working...I’m sure a teabag would give the same effect. Save your cash ...if you want to detox think about what you put into your body not what you put on your feet.

Your body is really pretty good at getting rid of toxins it doesn’t need, you don’t need to stick a pad on your feet.

You want to feel detoxed then eat some fruit & veg, drink some water and leave the junk out......l

If 'toxins' have built up to that extent in someone's body they need renal dialysis and/or a liver transplant, not friffing foot pads.

Sparklesocks · 06/10/2018 11:32

It’s a scam
Your body detoxes itself with your liver and kidneys, any product that claims to detox is most likely useless

SuperSange · 06/10/2018 11:35

I read about the foot pass in 'Bad Science' I think. Complete bollocks.

longwayoff · 06/10/2018 11:45

So pleased to read all this sense, a few years ago people were buying detox foot spas, much the same nonsense but more expensive. How do the manufacturers and advertisers getaway with it? Its clearly magic beans territory.

See also 'Hopi Ear Candles' and other batshittery.

Anything that claims to 'detox' is a scam. The body already has a very efficient detoxing system.

Notquiteagandt · 06/10/2018 11:56

I tried them out of curiosity

They gave my feet a foul smell kind of garlicy. That no ammount of scrubbing could get rid of for about 3 days 🤢

WhateverHappenedToTheHeatwave · 06/10/2018 13:59

Big time scam. Though i disagree on everything labelled detox being a scam. pukka detox teabags have my bowels working overtime. Its a go to for constipation for everyone here. They are herbals though not homeopathy...

TheDarkPassenger · 06/10/2018 14:01

I posted a link to a website proving they were a scam on some lass from Geordie shores Facebook page where she was selling them and it got deleted so I posted it again and it got deleted again 🤣
