To think some people shouldn't have / had DC?

Feeling quite upset about the issues that have been going on between my parents and I since I was about 12/13. Over the years I've been hit, kicked out and told to stay away as a young teenager, blamed for everything (yes fine some arguments were my fault but some were them or a combination of the two of them), never ever had an apology off them and now the latest - been cut out of my Grandma's 80th because Mum said it'd ruin it for her if I was there.

They totally screwed me up growing up and I'm having a hard job patching myself back together, same as my elder sibling.

AIBU to think some people just shouldn't have (or have had) DC?

Yes, my parents were the same. Violent, abusive addicts, especially my father. They should never have had children.

Sadly I'm seeing the pattern repeat and feel the same about my brother.

Not “some” but lots of so called parents should not have children. Unfortunately for the children there is nothing as a so called liberal society we can do to stop them procreating
