To go and wake my toddler?

DS is almost 2 and has been napping now for 3 hours! He usually has between 1-2 hours so this is rather unusual! He isn’t unwell so must just be tired!

So... wake him and face the wrath of the grumpy toddler. Or leave him and face hell at bedtime later?

Wake him, he'll never go to bed!

Leave him. When my ds was that age he used to regularly nap for 3 hours plus at this time of day. If I tried to wake him earlier he would be a nightmare. You can always have a later bedtime if need be.

I wake my DD after 2 hours otherwise she won't go to bed at bedtime

DS napped for 4 hours yesterday. He was tired.
He frequently naps for 2-3 hours at nursery, too. They've already asked whether they should wake him, since some parents don't want them sleeping for that long. (I heard one mum slightly panicky because her son had napped for a little under two hours. She demanded he should be woken after an hour.)
I asked them to let him sleep. He sleeps fine at night. His dad likes his sleep as well and even with a 3 hour nap, that would only mean about 11-12 hours of sleep in total. DS is 21 months old.

Never wake a sleeping child - they just scream at you! I’ve learnt my lesson!
Sometimes they need longer naps!
I used to worry when ds would have a 4 hour nap but always went down at 7 so enjoy and have a cup of teA!
