To think I can get a good laptop for under £400??

I am so frustrated. I had a nice little laptop and it suddently stopped working for literally no reason. Returned it to the shop, they can’t repair it, they can’t replace like for like, but I have had a refund. I can’t find anything powerful enough for what I need for the refund value.

Basically I would like to be able to have up to 8 PDF documents open and 10 tabs and be able to flick between them.
A friend has told me I need 8GB of RAM and a good intel processor to do this, but that is too expensive 😢

Can anyone advise on a laptop that will do what I need ideally around the £350 mark?

This would be fine for that

@Karmin thanks very much! So 4GB RAM would be enough?
I know absolutely nothing about these things, I’m just going by what my friend said (and she only knows slightly more than me!) Thanks for your help

Following a recommendation on here, I got a dell factory reconditioned laptop:

Much cheaper than brand-new, often business specs rather than home pc, and mine is still going strong several years later.

Mine was also a Dell refurb off Amazon. £100. 99%happy customer refs. Not a mark on it. Looks new, has been great for last 4years..

I got refurbished gaming laptop for £400 (nothing wrong with it, not even a single scratch). Runs perfectly with several programs open at once.

I got an HP Elitebook refurb from Amazon. It cost just over £200 and I have no complaints.
