Nemo does

Fevertree · 30/09/2018 20:50

Yup. They panic and feel pain

cardibach · 30/09/2018 20:51

How do you know? How do you know the level of feelings compared to a cow?
I’m a meat eater, but I think it’s inconsistent to decide it’s ok to eat fish but not land animals.

LusaCole · 30/09/2018 20:51

Well, I eat meat so I may not be the best person to ask! But personally I don't see much difference between eating meat and eating fish.

Ta1kinpeace · 30/09/2018 20:52

fish feel pain
fish learn
fish have family / school relationships

fish taste good

accept that you are eating dead animals and choose to purchase well

Veterinari · 30/09/2018 20:56

Scientific evidence indicates that fish do feel pain, also other emotions like anxiety
There's Even good evidence for pain in non-vertebrates like crustaceans

the animals i've trapped have all become my pets.

Ha, I knew straight away!

leighdinglady · 30/09/2018 20:58

I suspect you know you yabu and this is a reverse. Either you're vegetarian or not. You can't put more value on one life than another it's very hypocritical. As are vegetarians that waltz around in leather shoes. I eat meat but I understand true vegetarianism, not this half arsed approach

SchnooSchnoo · 30/09/2018 20:59

I think it’s fine unless there’s something in the way, op.

gingerchick · 30/09/2018 20:59

Ha me too love it

steff13 · 30/09/2018 21:00

I suspect the OP is referring to the song by Nirvana.

Ta1kinpeace · 30/09/2018 21:00

I have caught fish to eat - they were in pain as killed them.

As were the chickens I killed to eat.

I like to eat meat
but understand what I am doing

i figured offloading my earworm onto the collective mumsnet consciousness might rid me of it :o

You need to live off grass and drippings from the ceiling OP

heartofgold · 30/09/2018 21:03

i literally cannot walk under a bridge without this song invading my brain :o

YABU to waste eveyone’s downtime. Also I don’t know this song as Nirvana were never my thing, what with liking tunes and actual talent.

Featherbag · 30/09/2018 21:42

Something in the way, OP? 😉
