Just caught a bit of female cage fighting, by accident, it came on after something else.
I was totally horrified 😳 two women beating the fuck out of each other, both were bleeding.
It’s not a sexist thing, I’d feel the same if it were men.
AIBU in thinking this is not a sport? It seems to me it’s no different from cock fighting, or dogs?
That said, animals don’t have a choice

I had trouble watching Takeshis Castle, anyone remember that? There were bits that were funny but when some poor bastard landed full on his face or nuts I just cringed

I've been involved in MMA for a few years now. It's very controlled, only certain moves are allowed, and to be honest if you are an excellent fighter then you can submit your opponent without hurting them at all. If you're talking about straight up illegal underground cage fights where the winner is just the last person to remain standing, then yeah, thats just straight up assault. But MMA is very technical, controlled and there is no place for anger/rage as you will quickly be submitted if you lose control like that. Personally I find rugby to be more thuggish

I admit that I know nothing of MMA or any of organisations. It was just that both of the women I saw were bleeding quite badly . I agree about rugby too, they have to tape their ears down to stop them being ripped off ffs!😳

I totally agree Sugar, that is how I see it. YOu can take somebody to the floor with a sweep to the leg, or a positioned kick a certain part of their leg. Op might be talking about the illegal cage fighting, but proper MMA fighting is quite controlled actually.

This is my instructor, Kelly.
