Not gonna lie- just looked up contentment to make sure it was the right word Grin

I'm currently lying in the bath, waiting for my little girl to kick hard enough so I can film it and show her dad when he gets in. I've spent all day painting her nursery and I've got a stew in the oven, which is filling the house with the best smells.

Just feeling very pregnancy hormonal content at the minute (and also savouring my last few months going solo before she arrives!).

What makes you feel content?

Currently in jim jams with a cold glass of wine whilst partner is preparing a pasta bake while I watch celebrity pointless. The kids are with their dad tonight so we have a lie in too. Planning to watch a couple of episodes of Bodyguard tonight from the start as everyone keeps raving about it. I'm pretty content 🙂

SerenDippitty · 29/09/2018 18:27

I have a cold glass of wine, DH is preparing dinner, Strictly is about to start, perfect.

MawkishTwaddle · 29/09/2018 18:30

On couch. Gorgeous DP next to me, gorgeous DS on the other couch. Other DS happily ensconced at university. Dogs of various shapes and sizes are draped all over the place.

Tummy full of chilli and nachos. Glass of wine in hand. Strictly about to start.

I'm content Smile

Peace and quiet, wine, dog asleep on my feet, house tidy.

Your post is lovely OP. I used to love lying in the bath watching my pregnant bump move.

Alsonification · 29/09/2018 18:34

Dd is home from college for the weekend so I have both kids home with me. I have the fire blazing, the house is spotless, I’ve cleaned & sorted the garden which was long overdue, I’ve just had the nicest steak ever (I can’t usually cook it nicely but this was a fluke lol), I’m catching up on Designated Survivor and I’m pleasantly tired from all the hard work. I’m feeling very content.

Housework all done. Washing put away. Dinner in the oven. Fresh out of bath. New jim jams on. Clean sheets on bed. Going to have a lovely glass of red with dinner, then watching a series I recorded, with my little dog curled up next to me on the sofa..... Sheer heaven.

MsSquiz · 29/09/2018 18:36

For me it's sitting at my desk, in my newly decorated office at home, writing, with a hot sweet cup of tea and one of my lap-avoiding cats coming for a rare cuddle and purring away.

On a warm day, it's waking up early, leaving DH in bed, making a cuppa and sitting out in the garden and listening to the birds waking up with the sun on my face

MotherofPearl · 29/09/2018 18:41

I tend to feel at my most contented on Sunday evenings. All jobs done, house tidy, all caught up with laundry and ironing for about 10 minutes and we often have a nice dinner on Sunday evenings. Afterwards I get the DC's hair washed and into bed for early nights. DP and I then collapse on the sofa, watch something undemanding on TV, and enjoy pudding and wine in peace!

KlutzyDraconequus · 29/09/2018 18:44

Contentment to me is a full belly, a comfy sofa, a warm house, a happy child and TV.
A girlfriend would be nice too.. can't beat cuddles in front of the telly.

therealimposter · 29/09/2018 18:48

Getting in bed to freshly laundered line dried bed linen, ideally made by somebody else.

MissusGeneHunt · 29/09/2018 18:51

Peace in my mind. My son happy and fulfilled. My drawing board in front of me and the current piece going well. The dogs running in the garden, sun gently shining. Beautiful.

And very best wishes for your daughter's arrival! Flowers

@therealimposter you've made me want to wash my bedding now Grin

@alsonification that looks so cosy!

Being curled up with dh and the cats, with ds around as well, preferably with a nice mug of tea.

Alsonification · 29/09/2018 19:06

@m4rdybum it’ll be even cosier when I get my pjs on Grin

LatteLover12 · 29/09/2018 19:13

Snuggled up on the sofa with my lovely dog. DP is cooking tea with our DSs & strictly is on TV.

We’re TTC number 3 at the moment so I’m quietly symptom spotting too...🤞🏻😊

MissMarplesKnitting · 29/09/2018 19:17

Washing has been done and dried on the line.
Had mummy and solo time with both kids today. A rarity, and a joy. Made some very frivolous small purchases too, which made their day.

I've made my sloe gin, and put it under the stairs to brew.
The kids and us are watching Harry potter with hot popcorn. We have a supermarket fakeaway to enjoy.

Life is good.

anitagreen · 29/09/2018 19:22

I don't actually know when I'm content? Other than sitting on the beach with my kids and husband

anitagreen · 29/09/2018 19:24

Just thought of one actually when it's really cold outside and I've bathed the kids put fresh pjs on them, tucked them into bed putting the heating on and a film. And the rain lashing the windows. I'll usually have my candles lit and fairy lights on and lay on the sofa with a blanket and have tv on and some chocolates
