There seems to be some debate still about whether it hinges on an FBI investigation, but still. WTAF??

I can't understand why they believe him. America is a very different place.
All that tearful stuff about his daughter wanting to pray for the woman is aimed at the Christian right who will see him as one of them.

I have American work colleagues, some right leaning some I guess what you would call centre over there. Apparently an ex of blasey fords has given a statement under oath that she coached a friend through a polygraph test, that she stole from him and lived in a small house and flew regularly on small "puddle jumper" type planes. Some of this directly contradicts her statement and the question about whether she ever helped someone prepare for a polygraph test was a strange thing to ask.

Who knows, but they can't both be telling the truth and I think a lot of Americans (women and men) are angry at blasey for and deem her an outright liar.

I don't understand why they even went ahead with this, it was bound to be a shit show and no one was going to change position.

No one knows the truth, but i do think that the GOP knew about this before the hearing which is why the odd line of questioning about the polygraph test surely came up.

I would have fully understood her decision had she not. I don't know, I would have thought there are only a handful of any people whose minds were changed by the hearing. Most people are entrenched at this stage.

As someone who's suffered sexual assaults myself, and speaking for the 100s of others who've suffered it (that I know about) we're proud and grateful that she had the guts to stand up and speak out.

The thing is Fifi, and this might annoy you...there isn't any evidence you would accept that would persuade you he didn't do it. Leaving the man's objectionable politics to one side, he was never going to get a fair hearing because people had already decided he had done it.

On the other side there was no evidence that would be acceptable that he did do it - so no one changed their minds and the result is an even more divided country.
