Eggs on bananas (with pic)

Opened my bag of loose bananas tonight took the first one out and cut it up for my kids for after dinner then when I went back in the kitchen I noticed a weird mark on one of them. Eggs of some sort, I guessed a spider and when I googled a few stories about deadly Brazilian spiders on bananas in Tesco came up (coincidently where I bought these ones from).
Someone gave any other ideas as to what they may be to put my mind at ease. I'm starting to panic a bit as I've had these bananas for a good few days, was waiting for them to ripen a bit.

They're not hatched so it's nothing to worry about. Just dispose of it.

I've put them all in a sealed container as there was a couple on one of the other bananas, wasn't brave enough to take the whole lot out to check them. Would it be ok to just stick them in the bin do you think?

I’d assume if they came froma hot climate they’d be dead from the cold... maybe leave out overnight, in case the bin is too insulated.

Thought it was a recipe!

Me too Stone 😂😂 I was thinking finally someone weirder than me with my peanut butter, bacon and banana sandwiches 😂

Breezebutter · 25/09/2018 19:52

I was prepared for cooked eggs on bananaGrin have you got any bug spray you can use on them so it doesn’t infest your bin?

Oobis · 25/09/2018 20:06

I clicked on your post expecting a serving suggestion - I assumed scrambled eggs on fried banana for some reason! Sounds like you disposed of them safely - maybe worth a cautionary email to where you bought them from though. Obviously the world is reducing plastic food packaging, but I confess I tend to buy plastic wrapped bananas with the idea any nasties won't survive the journey Confused

Sorry everyone no banana and egg recipes I'm affraid 😂.

@Oobis, I just go for the ones that are riper, can't stand green bananas and the kids are to impatient to wait for the green ones to ripen 😂
