Miscarriage

Sorry, this isn't an AIBU at all.

I've had a miscarriage today, light spotting started on Sunday but had big clots today and really heavy bleeding and lots of pain.

What do I do now? I was probably around 6 weeks I hadn't been to my doctor yet?

Do I need tell my doctor or just let my body do the work?

Thanks x

Make an appointment with your GP for a referral into the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (check with the receptionist first though as you can self-refer in some areas). They'll be able to do an ultrasound to check that the miscarriage has been complete and that there are no obvious problems, it also means the miscarriage will become 'official' which is of benefit if you ever need investigations as the NHS won't do any until you've had three.

I'm so sorry for your loss, OP. Miscarriages are shit Flowers

Aw I'm so sorry to hear this... MC's are awful
All that @EwItsAHooman has said plus take a few days off work and have some rest.

I am sorry OP. Miscarriages are so shit. Definitely ring your GP to ask for a referral to early pregnancy assessment centre or even google to see if you can self refer.

I have had two miscarriages at 6 weeks. One was relatively straightforward but the other was very unpleasant and went on for weeks and weeks. It might be worth going checking out the thread below but put miscarriages may not be as bad;

Thanks, I'm actually on maternity leave as I have a 6 month old! I really just need a way to handle the pain so I can look after DD as she at my moms while I'm alternating bed and bath but my mom has to work the rest of the week Sad

I went to my gp when I was miscarrying and he was worse than useless. Unsympathetic, couldn't get me out of his office fast enough. Refused to even give me a blood test to see if my hcg was dropping and offered me a sicknote for work but wouldn't put anything other than 'gynecological problems' on it as he hadn't confirmed I was pregnant. I just had to wait a week and re-test my urine. Worst experience ever!

You can also ring the MW team for your area, tell them you're not registered yet as you haven't had your ten week booking in appointment but you need a referral to EPAU. They should be able to organise it over the phone.

Sorry to jump on but I think I'm in the same boat spotting started yesterday still here today small spots of red blood spoke to the epu and have an appointment a week on Tuesday 😫. They told me to take a clear blue digital on Sunday and it it doesn't say 3+ then to call them back. 😭 I'm just over 5 weeks.
