AIBU?

To give DS flu vaccine just before our hols?

I’ve just made an appointment for DS (11) to have the nasal flu vaccine (he has asthma). I realised after I’d put the phone down that the appointment is only a couple of days before we go away on hols for half term. I honestly can’t remember if he had any reactions to it last year (obviously nothing major or I would remember!) but I’m a bit worried in case he has any side effects and feels under the weather with it.

I don’t know if I should postpone it until after we get back but the next clinic is not until 1st November so slightly worried about delaying until then.

It's impossible to predict if he will have side effects or not, as the vaccine will be different to last year's. Maybe call the clinic and speak to a nurse if you're worried?

If you can't remember whether he had any reaction, then he probably didn't.

Definitely don't postpone it! Flu is nasty and easy to catch, especially on aeroplanes.

Give him the jab, he'll be absolutely fine,

Thanks both.
National - we are not flying, only doing Cornwall.

Better than possibly coming back from holiday with the flu! Mine’s had it the past 4 years and never had no much as a sniffle.
