Anyone know about baggage reclaim at Stansted?

AIBU to ask for advice. Finally landed after hours delayed flight, pre booked taxi waiting and just want to get home. However fucking Ryanair made us check our bags and stansted don't have enough ground crew on so baggage is delayed for hours. What can we do? Do we have to wait it out, can we pick them up tomorrow? Can they send it on? Am I talking crazy talk after being up so long? Help me please!

Should add Ryanair are predictably unhelpful and just handed us a complaint form. We all have work in the morning. Grrr.

Is this a new Ryanair policy whereby unless you pay for priority you have to check normal size cabin bags in? No advice only sympathy. I hope you got it sorted.

Thank you. Yes that's it. It wouldn't have mattered if the flight hadn't been delayed but I think Stansted only have a skeleton ground crew on at night.

We were on the verge of leaving and coming back for them the next day (which they said we could do but I'm not 100% sure it would have been that easy) but they got them out within an hour of me posting this so all is well that ends well.

Having watched it happen when soneone took my bag out of the Airport, it is indeed difficult to get bags through customs if its owner has already exited the Airport.
I'm not sure how this works when the airline doesn't load your luggage, and they bring it the next day....
Glad you have your bags. Hope today isn't too tiring.

Stansted baggage handling has always been slow. If the bags are not loaded for whatever reason they should be delivered to your home when they arrive, that's what happened to us when our bags didn't make a tight connection at Minneapolis. I don't think you can leave them, go home then return without some official arrangement, worth asking someone.
