To have taken this bin?

Random (and dull) I know but....

Went to bring my bin back after today's rubbish collection but it wasn't there. All other bins had been taken save for 1 which looked identical to mine except it had a piece of twine attached to the handle. I honestly noticed this as I'd picked it up and started carrying it back.

As all the bins look similar I assumed someone must have taken mine by mistake so I just took this one, thinking we would end up with our bins back after next week's collection.

Except now I'm worried that actually I am the victim of bin theft and now have done the same to another neighbour Blush

Should I put the bin back?

(And yes I do realise now we should probably all write house numbers or something on our bins to identify them in the future!)

A neighbour took my bin once and left me her dirty smelly bin! They do it on purpose ! Never got mine back so got it washed and put my number on it ! Lesson learnt

No, just use it for now and they should all get swapped to the right place on the next collection.

Our neighbour swopped bins the second week we had them - theirs was stinking. Washed it and put numbers ALL over it.

Take the twine off and put your number on.
