I met some mum's when I had my baby. We hit it off which was nice. However the last time ive tried to meet with one of them she's put up some many barriers and obstacles I can't be arsed. The first time she texted me an hour before with some excuse 're needing to go to shops. The next time I was already out at the retail park and she said she ended up going to asda spending 40 quid so she can't come now. AIBu to forget it?

I would leave it to see if she arranges something. Maybe she’s having money troubles and is too embarrassed to say.

Shoxfordian · 24/09/2018 13:29

Yeah just leave it for now

I find flaky people infuriating. They think I've got sod all to do

I was very flaky with friends when suffering with MH issues after having both kids so I’d just be there if she needs you and try not to take it personally unless there’s anything else going on to imply she’s just a thoughtless person.

I have depression and have done for years.

I don’t know what point you’re making, sorry

FurryandObnoxious · 24/09/2018 14:51

I have depression but I'm not flaky that's the point

Jesus chill out Confused not everyone's the same

Catmatrat · 24/09/2018 15:10

But not everyone with mental health issues suffer the same symptoms surely? Just because you aren’t flaky doesn’t mean other people aren’t. What a strange reply Hmm

FurryandObnoxious · 24/09/2018 15:13

Fair enough. I'm still not happy about it and won't be bothering again.

OP, just take a step back.

Next time this women invites you out shopping or for coffee, say yes, but don't leave the house until you know she's actually there. That way, you won't have a wasted afternoon. Play them at their own game.

FurryandObnoxious · 24/09/2018 17:34

Good idea Haviana
