To be annoyed at waiting 2mths for my new glasses ??

I had my eyes tested on April 19th and I needed new glasses. I also pickedx some prescription sunglasses as I want to start my driving lessons soon and though i might need them.

Anyway, they said they'd be in within about 10-14 days.

About a week later they ring to say that the frame for the sunglasses is out of stock until the 9th May but that they will ring me as soon as they come in.

Have heard bugger all from them, and have just rung to find thet neither pair are ready yet, so thats nearly 2 mths.

Am so annoyed, am waiting for them so i can book first driving lesson. It's an independant opticians and normally they are fine, and the stuff arrives within 2 weeks, but it's nearly 2 mths.

Not acceptable.

Have you paid anything for the new glasses yet? If not, I would tell them to stuff their glasses, and take the prescription to a different optician. As the prescription is less than three months old you can take it anywhere and get it made up - somewhere like Vision Express will do them in 24 hours (or even just an hour, depending on your prescription).

I've had some v poor service from boots last time I got my glasses they forgot an attachment and I had such a rude woman dealing with me I walked out and went back after checking she wasn't there.
seriously head round the corner stuff.
next time I'm going somewhere else

I would do that wwb, but places like Vision Express don't give you glasses with your exact prescritption in, just the closest they have.
The one i have on now are from Specsavers and I've since been told that they are much too strong, hence the headaches i've been getting.

Nutty, that's not true. Vision Express do give you your exact prescription; I've been getting my prescription specs from there for years, and mine's not a standard prescription. If you need standard lenses they fit them in an hour, if you need them making up then they take 24 hours or so. Honestly - they're proper opticians.

And there are an awful lot of other opticians out there who would make up your prescription for you.
