How much trouble is my DH in (light hearted)

We went out last night, had a nice meal. I knew he was meeting friends this afternoon, just for a drink and planned to be home around 6pm.

So 5.30pm he phones to say his friends have persuaded him to stay out and eat (I do know if they'd planned to eat before I'd have been invited as we all get on well). Only thing is I'd already started cooking with a view to doing a bake. Am on the peri-menopause and really struggling with heat (woke up about eight times last night), so at the time I wasn't amused (I'd have just had salad on my own and stayed away from cooker).

I wanted to do something nice as he's on a training course tomorrow for his new job, I'm working all day Sunday, so it's usually something simple in the evening.

He's not a bad person and has put up with me for 23 years, but surely has to pay. How much trouble is he in (this is a light hearted post)?

What’s he I trouble for?

ifonly4 · 21/09/2018 18:27

The fact I'd already started cooking a nice tea.

Why didn't you tell him that?

LongSummerDays · 21/09/2018 18:46

He's not a mind reader, I presume?

tangoed2 · 21/09/2018 18:52

Lock the door and latch on, definitely.

Disclaimer LIGHTHEARTED. I think everyone else missed that bit of your post OP!

LittleBearPad · 21/09/2018 18:54

Just have it tomorrow. I’m perplexed

CantThinkOfNameOops · 21/09/2018 18:59

i get how annoying it is. my mil has met dh after he's finished work a few times and gone out for food with him while I've already started cooking food ready. thing is he doesn't tell me he's had food until he gets home and I'm stuck with cold food

StandardLampski · 21/09/2018 19:00

I get you 🤣 he has to clean the baked on dish. Forget to leave it to soak ....

TwitterQueen1 · 21/09/2018 19:02

It was 5.30pm! who starts cooking dinner at 5.30? Nope, sorry, you are being totes U. Your DH is in no trouble at all; you OTOH (in a lighthearted manner) deserve to be called 'er indoors' by your DH....

OftenHangry · 21/09/2018 19:04

LTB

Just joking, of course.

I am at the similar boat! Dinner bubbling on a cooker nad DH is nowhere to be seen.
His loss though.Grin
I think the appropriate punishment will be a back massage on Sunday after your work @ifonly4 Wink

someonekillbabyshark · 21/09/2018 19:24

I think he needs to wash up and you need a back and foot rub! DEFO Grin

Badwifey · 21/09/2018 20:12

@twitterqueen just curious what time is dinner normally started at? Mine can be started any time between 11am and 7pm depending on what we're having.
