Yesterday day time I had a dull ache in the back of my calf, not enough to cause pain but it was definitely there.

Right now, I’m finding it hard to walk, it doesn’t feel like a stitch because it’s not quite as intense but it hurts to walk/touch it/point my toes. No obvious swelling or redness, not particularly warm.

I would just assume a pulled muscle, but I can’t think what I would have done to have pulled it? I was wearing comfortable trainers and didn’t do any more walking than I usually do - and certainly nothing strenuous!

Thanks, just isn’t sitting right with me but I am aware I might be massively overthinking it!

Make an appointment with your GP, preferably for tomorrow. If they have no appointments tell them you will go to the surgery and wait - they often have cancellations on the day and will see emergencies.

At the very least you will be reassured.

Best case scenario is that the pain will be gone or much reduced by tomorrow which is often the case with pulled muscles, then no appointment is necessary. However it might be something else which can be treated easily and you won't know until you've seen the doctor.
