LOL dolls

Hi All,

I have no children of my own and so am unsure of what they’re in to :/ My neighbours daughter is about to turn 8 and so I wanted to get her a nice gift, I’d heard her mention LOL dolls and so decided to get one from Amazon. It’s just arrived and I’m shocked to see how small it is! It cost £12 and is the size of one of those crap toys you get from a ball machine for about £1

So - question 1 - do kids really like these or have I totally messed up and 2 - are her parents going to think I’m super tight when I give her this tiny present 😂

She’ll love it

Cindersdonegood · 20/09/2018 14:19

They love it. And the manufacturers love us because we're daft enough to buy em. Mine asked for LOL dolls and a Hatchimal.

I laughed and said of course not, they're cheap tat with a great marketing company. I did however get suckered into buying my 6 and 8 year olds a squishy thingy each. They lasted about a day before the foam was ripping apart.

madcatsforever · 20/09/2018 14:21

I bought her a squishy also - it was £10 and is about 2 inches tall and looks like another £1 piece of tat!

Her birthday is tomorrow so no time now to get anything else ... I’ll just hope she likes them lol

When I walk into a shop and there are LOL dolls, My heart drops.

Literally no tearing my children away from them.

So yes, she probably will love it!

My son loves to play with them too.

If you bought one for my daughter I'd be so grateful because they're stupidly expensive for what they are but I know she will just love it so much!

LiquoricePickle · 20/09/2018 14:22

She'll love it and I expect the parents know the cost!

amilosingitor · 20/09/2018 14:24

My girls probably have about a grands worth of these bastard things between them. It makes me sick. She will love it!

aperolspritzplease · 20/09/2018 14:38

She'll love it. Mine are obsessed with the bloody things.

anitagreen · 20/09/2018 14:45

She will love it my kids do too
We are currently doing the lol sticker album and nearly complete we now have 50 doubles id like to swap with someone so we can finish this album and never buy them againGrin

Yabbers · 20/09/2018 14:47

Hint. Amazon have much cheaper squishies!

HidingFromMyKids · 20/09/2018 14:49

It's the unwrapping, the layers and the putting it all together that they love.

Wouldn't buy from amazon next time slightly cheaper else where.

Which one did you get. I've been conned into the newest underwraps version that comes in a capsule with codes to unlock each section. Kept her busy for aaaaages.
can you tell I secretly love it

Believeitornot · 20/09/2018 14:50

Get her an under wraps LOL. In a little case.

They’re not that tat like actually. They’re pretty good quality and come with accessories. They also colour change eg in hot or cold water.

Yes my dd loves them.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Believeitornot · 20/09/2018 14:51

Just make sure you haven’t got a fake one..... amazon sellers are sometimes selling fake LOL dolls 😬

Lonelynessie · 20/09/2018 15:03

Yep, she will love it. My dd8 is all over LOL dolls, Squishies and now some kind of slime filled unicorn thing 🤷‍♀️

YeTalkShiteHen · 20/09/2018 15:05

She’ll love it. Our house is full of the creepy little fuckers most of them headless dolls and they’ve (just in time for Christmas!) released a whole fresh hell new range.

No idea why kids love them, but they do. DD and DS2 love unwrapping them and swapping all the clothes.
