Why does nothing work for me!

why the hell does nothing work for me? I HATE the way I look!

I’ve tried going blonde and getting hair extensions but even though I paid a lot of money the hair colour looks shit and yellow and the extensions don’t match and where so thin!

I get a spray tan, it’s always patchy!

I get my nails done, they hurt and go swollen!

I stop drinking g coke, my skin seems to go worse and my teeth seem to go yellower!

I have even had my lips and my ugly ass chin done twice!! And after a couple of days the filler seems to just disappear!

I’m only 22 and I’m greasy, my skin is vile and my hair is disgusting. Everything I do is just not working!

All these things I’ve had done where when I had about of money. I’m completely skint now so can’t even pay to have this shit done for even a couple of days where it looks okay but then after a few days it goes bad!

Does anyone else have this where nothing seems to bloody work for them!

Are you sure that's the case? Perhaps your perception isn't in line with reality.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 20/09/2018 01:59

At 22 you’ve got a lot on your side op. You don’t need to be messing about with fillers and shit.
I know you’re going to think I’m talking shite here as an old lady, but you’ve just come out of your teens ffs!
Get enough sleep, stop injecting your face, stop bleaching your hair, and fuck extensions!
Stop trying to fit into a very sad stereotype and allow your natural beauty through

ShotsFired · 20/09/2018 02:04

I stand shoulder to shoulder with @Aintnothingbutaheartache - she speaks wise words, please listen to her.

Quite agree with both last posters.

There's a saying that youth is wasted on the young. I always think that means that it's only when you look back in hindsight do you realise that a lot of mental energy is wasted on warped analysis of your looks, when in fact you looked just fine. I'm now well into middle age and despair of the amount of self hatred I had about my looks then, when really, I looked no better or worse than anyone else.

For too yellow blonde hair, you can simply remedy by using a purple shampoo or toner which will tone down the yellow. Get it from the supermarket, it will get rid of the brassy colour.

For you OP Flowers

Youth is wasted on the young.
I'm sure lots of us felt like you in our younger years and now look back and see we were bloody gorgeous with fabulous figures.......my friends and I certainly do.
I'm sure you're beautiful, OP.

What's in the mirror isn't what you see Op, I'm sure you look just fine without all the fakery. TBH I do not like fillers, fake nails, fake hair. I find real people with natural looks so much prettier. Embrace the natural you, if it's greasy skin that worries you then try a new regime, get the purple shampoo and instead of fake nails get some French manicure top coats (Dior nail glow dupes) and start being proud of the real you.

AriadnePersephoneCloud · 20/09/2018 07:36

I don't think all of those things can have failed. I think it might be the way you see yourself. Do other people compliment you on the way you look?

AnneProtheroe · 20/09/2018 07:37

Drink plenty of water, get as much sleep as you can, and moisturise your skin daily.

Up to you if you choose to stay blonde but not every hair colour suits everyone.

Get a good manicure, rub moisturiser into your cuticles daily (it doesn't matter what you use, it's the massage that helps nail health)

No fillers, you honestly don't need them.
Be proud of you. It's the real you inside that counts.

Lethaldrizzle · 20/09/2018 07:39

nothing beats a fit body that radiates health. Exercise!

Rednaxela · 20/09/2018 07:41

Please please get to know yourself. Life and beauty and style are not one size fits all. Bleach and fake tan only suit a very small minority of people. Most of us look our best when we dress and style ourselves to suit our natural beauty.

I know the colours thing is a bit cliched and 80s but it is a good starting point to think about what skin tone you have, natural hair tone. What colours of clothes and make up might suit you best. Honestly getting a foundation and eye make up that suits and brings out natural beauty can be life changing.

Hideandgo · 20/09/2018 07:41

You are enough just as yourself. I wish you understood that. So many women waste so much time on fucking ‘beauty’ crap which is just to line the pockets of others at our expense.

Alicatz66 · 20/09/2018 07:42

Agree with the others !!
I'm an old bag of 52 but in good shape due to diet and exercise ... get your trainers on .. download couch to 5k app and get running ! .. have an avocado .. fuck fillers !!
Get your nails done somewhere good
Have a glass of red wine
Report back to us ! Xx

I know you won't actually care but oily skin ages much better too. X

Another piece of wisdom - 'If you are happy you are beautiful'
Nothing looks as lovely as happiness.

Nesssie · 20/09/2018 08:52

Go to a hairdressers, ask for their opinion on what natural colour and style will suit your face shape. Nothing high maintainance, just a nice simple hair cut.

I find personally that having my eyebrows shaped makes me feel a lot prettier instantly.

Do a bit of walking/gentle exercise.

Drink lots of water- Make sure you’ve drunk a bottle of water before allowing any other beverage. Withdrawing from coke can be as hard as the actual drug, stick with it as you may feel worse before better.

Go through your wardrobe and pick a few colours and styles that suit you.

You don’t need fake nails, especially if they hurt. Just paint them yourself- bright colours for short nails, more neutral tones for longer nails.

But honestly, it sounds like you could do with talking to someone, as this is probably more of an self esteem problem than a physical one. Once you learn to accept and be happy with yourself, it will show.

Pretty much everyone feels insecure at some point. Flowers
