AIBU to think Bell's pies should last well?

We have a couple of bell's mince rounds and just noticed the date on them is the 17th. I think they should be fine as they've been kept in a nice cold fridge but DP is funny about use by dates.

I haven't opened them to smell but assuming they don't smell when I do open them...do you think they would be ok to use?

It's hard to tell when it's a pie. With raw meat you can see what it looks like as well as the stink if it has gone off.

Ohhh the dilemma lol

the worst that can happen is that the pastry will be a bit soft.

but I have to ask... mince pies in September?

Grin Grin pasta!!!!! I think Bells are Scottish, No? Anyway I knew what you meant. Yes I think the meat is relatively full enough of preservatives that it should be fine!

That's what I was thinking. They've been well chilled, kept boxed and are going to have enough preservatives in them to prevent a sudden onslaught of bacteria.

I thought I should ask though, seeing as I'm no expert. Thanks for your replies x
