What's this spider

Hi
Posting here for traffic. MJust found this rather prickly spider in my car. I live in Essex, UK. Moved it safely to the garden. Anyone know what it is ? Look at its prickles !!

Looks like a common orb weaver to me.

Just a garden spider - they're getting big this time of year. Handle carefully they can nip.

Ah right thanks all! Yes wasn't doing any harm just happily sitting in her web by my gearstick. Didn't know can nip !
