Cheeky fuckers and bin rage

Feefeetrixabelle · 19/09/2018 10:52

I live in a block of flats and I’ve just gone to use my wheely bin to find that the new cheeky fucking neighbours have filled it with their packaging. I wouldn’t mind but they’ve not even put it in the right bin so the bin would have never been emptied. Am I a complete bitch for taking it out (looks like the packaging for a fridge or similar) and putting it on top of the bin of the new neighbours. Or have I started a bin war.

Start the bin war!

SpottingTheZebras · 19/09/2018 10:54

Definitely take it out and put it on their bin or else knock on their door and ask them to do so.

Chwaraeteg · 19/09/2018 10:57

I vote for bin war.

Subtlecheese · 19/09/2018 11:00

1 2 3 4 I declare bin war!

Feefeetrixabelle · 19/09/2018 11:03

They don’t answer I just knocked on their door. I wouldn’t usually be so pissed but I just had to empty my recycling bin of their crap on Friday.

I semi caved and have put it in my correct bin because theirs is full and it’s so windy here it’s flying everywhere and stuck a note through their door asking them to stop using my bin or I’ll contact the housing association. Our new housing officer is lovely and will take. Zero crap off them.

Take it out, put it in their bin, and tape a anonymous note to their bin saying please use YOUR OWN bin for YOUR OWN rubbish,

SpottingTheZebras · 19/09/2018 11:09

Put it outside their front door if their bin is empty.

Eatmycheese · 19/09/2018 11:26

I would have given it to my three children, let them have great fun ripping it all up into teeny weeny pieces, bagged it up and bit by bit emptied the lot through their front door letterbox

actualpuffins · 19/09/2018 11:27

Do you definitely know who put it there?

If so, put it in their bin.

ToadOfSadness · 19/09/2018 11:27

Buy bin locks, then watch from your window when they try to use your bin Grin

actualpuffins · 19/09/2018 11:28

Oh, theirs is full. Put it in a bag on the top with a brick holding it down.

dinosaurkisses · 19/09/2018 11:31

If they have a full job, that’s their problem.

I’d happily help out if they just asked, but you sorting through their rubbish gives the impression that they can freely use your bin for their overflow.

I’d pop it in a bin bag with a cheery note saying

“Hi- it looks like there’s been a bit of a mix up with the bins! I’ve taken your packaging out of mine so you can pop it in your brown bin for collection next Friday. Take care, number 42.”

and leave it at their back door.

Happycow · 19/09/2018 11:32

Just take it out and put it on their bin. Then buy a big number sticker from eBay for your bin! I had to do this after my CF neighbours kept nicking new bins I'd ordered from the council, all swapping their manky bins with my gleaming one

araiwa · 19/09/2018 11:34

Its a bin

HoleyCoMoley · 19/09/2018 11:35

Do the bins have flat numbers on them and do the new neighbours have their own bin and know which dates they are emptied. Get a bin lock, you can buy them on Amazon.

woolduvet · 19/09/2018 11:50

I think I've seen bin locks...

Juells · 19/09/2018 12:03

Bin war! Not an inch!

FlamingJuno · 19/09/2018 12:05

Our residents' association meets once a quarter. Two things ALWAYS appear on the agenda - bins and parking. Nip it in the bud now, you'd be amazed and horrified at how bin wars can escalate...
Someone left the doors to the communal areas open all night last night, meaning that anyone could have walked in off the street. That's going on the agenda immediately Grin.

ArtemisWeatherwax · 19/09/2018 12:16

Start a bin war. Go nuclear. Get it out of your bin and into theirs, get bin locks and get the housing officer out.

Mumminmum · 19/09/2018 12:22

Give them a chance to react to the note, but if they continue to behave like that, get bin locks.

Feefeetrixabelle · 19/09/2018 13:11

Well done @araiwa it is just a bin. Have a gold star and if your not interested in the conversation then off you pop.

Yeah mine has the number in big writing- from a previous resident. I can’t leave it loose anywhere because the wind will take it away and mess the place up and I’ve watched too many documentaries about plastic waste lately towant to make that situation worse.

It’s definitely theirs, it’s got their address on it.
