Temp Work - Recommendations - Posting for Traffic

I left work in April due to mental health issues following a traumatic event. I want to get back to work but I'm not sure I'm ready to commit to a full time permanent role. I'm looking in to temporary positions. Can anyone recommend an app or agency whereby temp positions are posted for immediate acceptance? Sort of last minute.com for roles covering sickness, maternity etc. Does such a thing exist? TIA

I've had more luck with in house temp banks, such as local government, NHS and universities. I'm not sure where you live so can't provide links for your area, but I think all areas have them.

Recruitment agencies advertise too but I can't recommend any personally - they tend to need you to be a bit more pro-active with chasing them! I'm sure some people have had good experience with them, though. I think Office Angels is nationwide and has a lot of temporary office stuff.

Thanks @caddywally the bank stuff sounds interesting. I'm Leeds based. I've heard of NHS professionals. What should I look for, for local government and universities?

I've just had a quick look on the Leeds County Council website but couldn't find anything - maybe you could email them? My local council just has a general 'temp bank' role advertised along with the other jobs but I imagine it varies council by council.
