As well of booking me on a course whilest on Al on a day I don’t usually work

I then had to endure being booked off for Al without being consulted on days I didn’t even want bang out of order

Today they have put me on the rota starting at 8

I start at 8:30 so it made me look like I was late got a call from my shift leader asking well the Jeff was I

I know why they have done this the person I support gets support from 8 and they want it to look like their getting their full allocation

But I will not be made to look like I am tardy so they can look like their using the LAs money properly

Aibu I am looking for another job but slim pickings for PT worker

Sorry, but what is AI?

1981fishgut · 18/09/2018 16:48

Annual leave

Are you employed by the LA?

If so, does your contract state when your normal working hours are? Do you have a flexi system?

If you are only being contracted specific hours id clarify with your manager and hr about what the expectation is.

The training on annual leave days just sounds like shite management - how much notice are you being given of these changes?

Clarich007 · 18/09/2018 16:50

Sorry, no idea what your'e on about. Try to explain

Annual Leave

It’s not right they book days off fe your allocation without consulting you

1981fishgut · 18/09/2018 16:50

Also, if your managers are rubbish, definitely join a union! Working part time is brilliant sometimes, but can be awful in poorly managed teams.

I have they are the ones told me that I shouldn’t be booked on courses while I am on Al with out consultation and on days I don’t usually work

And that I should not be having My al booked for me 😮
When I am not on shift

Did you not tell your manager that you can't start at 8 if they put it on the rota?

Do you have loads of annual leave (AL!!! Not AI!) to use up and they needed to fit it in?

Timeforabiscuit · 18/09/2018 16:54

Yes they are chancing their arm! Can you find a job with a different provider?

1981fishgut · 18/09/2018 16:56

Of course they know that I have always worked from 8:30

No I don’t have loads I have 3 days

And tbh it matters not she still should not book me or with out consultation I could have a whole year left

It’s not up to them

When's the cut off for booking AL.... our place will book it for you if it's not booked by a certain date ( which is coming up soon)

I remember your previous thread. YANBU. Tell them there has been a mistake, that you don't work until 8.30 so the Rota needs changing, as does the training on your day off. Make it sound like someone has clearly made an error, when you clearly know it's deliberate.

my union told me when coming up unpon a cut off date managers should warn staff that their allotted holiday is coming to a end

And it’s bad management I wasn’t even told it had been booked I rang in sick and was told by a colleague

Well your not due in anyway you have been booked off

yes I sent an email to my boss saying somthing along the lines of just letting you know I think a mistake has been made ............. just wanted to let you know

In case I have to raise a grievance

Are you on a fixed hours contract? If so, I would ask if there has been a miscommunication as your contracted hours start at 8.30 but the LA expect someone there from 8.

I would also just point out that as the training is during AL time, you will either need to change AL (if you haven't already made plans) or not go. If you have already made plans, simply say you can't attend that training as you have plans in your AL and leave it to the employer to find an alternative training for you if it essential.

Do you need to meet with your supervisor or manager to clear the air and get things back on track?

WindDoesNotBreakTheBendyTree · 18/09/2018 17:32

Document everything in writing
TBH I would raise a grievance
