Front tooth feels loose..

A couple of months ago my DS (6months) headbutted me in the mouth. It hurt but I wasn't worried.
I noticed that my front tooth is now slightly further back than what it once was (as a result of the headbutt?) and decided to wear my retainer to help. Front tooth now feels loose and moveable. Whenever I take my reatiner out it goes straight back to the position it was after headbutt.
Worried I have done more harm than good. I've booked an appointment with the dentist but does anyone have any experience with this?

@13

Good advice. Also I was worried with all that singing, the force of the airflow might push it out. Thanks for responding :)

Definitely get it checked at the dentist!

It's tomorrow. Will have to twiddle my thumbs whilst I wait!

Ask if they can splint it to the next tooth. I'm sure it will settle down.

I have occasional wobblers and as long as I leave them alone, they generally stabilise.
