And how long was your recovery time?
How long were you off work etc?

Really? I've never heard of a wrist replacement!

It’s more like a hinge thing to replace the wrist joint. Like in the pic :)

Wow thats amazing, what does the surgeon say.

Not me and not exactly a wrist replacement but it was something called a four corner wrist fusion which is similar. Very painful and sensitive and weak for about four months, getting slowly better and less painful with some increased mobility during that time and later, now 10 months on, still aching quite a bit but very functional and advice from doc is that it will ache until about next spring. The person was not off work for long, maybe two weeks (he is a bit unusual though, and has his own business). Was very careful and still is. Does very hard manual work a lot of the time.

I’m meeting them Monday and he wants to do the surgery Thursday. I’ve been on the waiting list over a year but he’s always been a bit vague on recovery time and I wanted to know to expect.

I was hoping someone on here might have had it done and could share their experience.

My other wrist is fused but that’s different as I didn’t have an physio etc after.

Lucky Twiglet - I was off two weeks for the fusion so I was hoping it would be similar.

Sweetpea I think the four corner fusion is more similar to the wrist replacement than the full fusion as it's about retaining some movement so lots of physio afterwards.

Good luck I hope it all goes well for you.
