My bathroom sink - the pedestal beneath it, has moved about four to five inches back, and there is a large chip near the top, like a thin slice which was on the floor. I share the house with my adult son who has ASD and he is equally mystified. It looks as though something hit it or someone kicked it. I am driving myself mad wondering how the hell it happened and I can only come up with someone got into the house while we were out or asleep but nothing else is disturbed or missing. I literally have no idea how this could have happened. I would be very grateful if anyone could shed a light on this.

Maybe something happened to your pipes and they pulled it inwards like in horror films

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 16/09/2018 21:42

Yes Pennywise uses the sewers so could come up the sink Wink

My bets are on your ds kicking it and being too worried to tell you ?

Shell4429 · 16/09/2018 21:55

Eliza9917 not helping! 🙀
Don’tGoIntoTheLongGrass I very much doubt it, he doesn’t lie usually. But I wouldn’t rule it out entirely.

Maybe there's someone living your loft and they trod on your pipes up there.

Noqont · 17/09/2018 10:11

I would bet on your son as well.

MrTrebus · 17/09/2018 10:13

I think you've mentioned your son has ASD for a reason, is he prone to the odd outburst? It's obviously on your mind it could well be him. Maybe sit him down and say you're not in trouble but I just need to know if you did anything to the sink even accidently so I know how I can get it repaired etc.

comedycentral · 17/09/2018 10:19

If it wasn't you it was your son. There isn't another explanation unless there is a plumbing issue.

BusterGonad · 17/09/2018 10:26

Any pets? Have you had any friends around recently with boisterous kids?

SlowlyShrinking · 17/09/2018 10:28

Earthquake?
Or poltergeist?

We had a chat last night after I posted. I am 100% confident he didn’t do it deliberately but he is a big chap and has OCD issues and a strict toilet routine that involves a lot of time on the loo. The only thing we could come up with is that he was playing a game on his 3DS (he has meltdowns on his games sometimes) while on the loo and accidentally kicked it as it’s right next to it. It was enough to stop me worrying but this morning as I sat on the loo it really didn’t seem possible. But applying Occams Razor, I guess I will have to accept it!

Sounds like he is trying to tell you a story to explain how he broke it without actually admitting fault. I'd assume he kicked it and leave it at that.

Shell4429 · 17/09/2018 12:01

MadeForThis No, he just isn’t like that. I promise you if he had done it he would tell me, he knows I wouldn’t get angry. It was me that came up with the theory he might have done it accidentally. He’s very intelligent and articulate and knows I would rather know than not know.
