To ask how to help dd with anxiety?

My dd is resitting some university exams and is very anxious, with mood swings, tears, sleep loss and the rest. I think she has worked hard and knows her topics but anxiety played a big part in failing first time and she is worried it will happen again.

I've been trying to keep her calm and be there as much as possible for her. Recently she has wanted hugs and I have once cuddled her as she tried to get to sleep.

My dh thinks I should be trying to get her to be more independent and that I may make things worse as 'you can't cuddle her when she's back at university'. Is he right? Am I making it worse? How do you help an older teen with anxiety?

I just want her to get through the exams then we can work on strategies to cope next year but I admit this is really hard. I read about student suicides and I'm really worried but maybe I'm not helping by doing too much? Any advice would be much appreciated.
