Just noticed on the netmums website that posts have been copied and pasted from this site but a different name has been put to the post.

Not just mine (on the teens and tweens board) but other posts as well.

Is this usual? just found it a bit odd!

OP posts:
SneakyGremlins · 16/09/2018 17:20

Confused that's a bit fucking creepy

Creeper8 · 16/09/2018 17:21

people post the same things on different forums. I see it alot. one had hundreds of comments then on one site then posted it on here, made me wonder why the hundreds of comments she got before wasnt enough Confused

SparklyMagpie · 16/09/2018 17:21

That is weird Confused but I wouldn't know as I don't go on it. But I should imagine it's not usual??

SparklyMagpie · 16/09/2018 17:22

Ahh yeah I did think that

Marie0 · 16/09/2018 17:22

Oh right Ok - just wondered lol - yes you would have thought a couple of 100 comments would be enough first time around!

OP posts:
Creeper8 · 16/09/2018 17:23

It should be the same poster but they just want more comments about it.

Marie0 · 16/09/2018 17:25

Creeper - yes I suppose your right on some cases - but it definitely wasn't me posting 'my thread' on the mumsnet web site as I don't have an account - maybe some else having similar problems and couldn't be arsed to write their own post :)

OP posts:
RiceButt · 16/09/2018 17:29

I think what the OP is saying is someone is copy and pasting other people's posts and posting on Netmums, including the OP's original post on Mumsnet, not just posting the same the same top of on 2 different forums.

RiceButt · 16/09/2018 17:30

*same topic on 2 differnet forums

Marie0 · 16/09/2018 17:31

Ricebutt - yes that's exactly what I'm saying :)

Apparently on mumsnet I am 'teadore84' - actually quite like that user name!

OP posts:
SparklyMagpie · 16/09/2018 17:31

Ahhh if that's what you meant OP, then yeah that is bloody weird

Creeper8 · 16/09/2018 17:32

Oh wow yeh thats crazy!! I must have read it wrong.

FullOfNothing · 16/09/2018 17:35

I've posted the same thing on Netmums and here before, didn't get adequate help on either site. Oh well. 🤷‍♀️

Marie0 · 16/09/2018 17:35

That's ok, I probably explained it in a rubbish way :)

It's weird though. I don't understand why anyone would do that as surely their own post in their own words would be more beneficial to them if they genuinely want advice?

Anyway as my mum would say "There's nowt as queer as folk!"

OP posts:
Marie0 · 16/09/2018 17:37

FullOfNothing

Yes but it was you (the same person) who posted on both sites - not a complete random person who copied and pasted your thread presumably

OP posts:
DearMrDilkington · 16/09/2018 17:40

That's really weird. Have you searched the posters name on there to see if any other threads have been copied over?

Marie0 · 16/09/2018 17:49

DearMr

No I haven't gone to the trouble of doing anything like searching the username - after all apart from it being a bit weird there's no real depth to it is there?

It's not going to have any effect on me apart from bewilderment!

OP posts:
SparklyMagpie · 16/09/2018 17:59

@Marie0 it's bang on word for word? I mean I know you said it's clearly copy and paste, but no little adjustments to it at all?

Marie0 · 16/09/2018 18:02

Sparkly - no it's bang on word for word apart from signed off as 'teadora83'

OP posts:
Marie0 · 16/09/2018 18:17

My 'grief' thread has also been copied and pasted - this time by a poster called 'Kasandra' - I thought I wasn't bothered but now I'm a little freaked out.

Can anyone else pop over and see if any of their threads have been copied and pasted?

OP posts:
SparklyMagpie · 16/09/2018 18:17

Wonder if the poster is reading this ? Shock haha

Marie0 · 16/09/2018 18:21

Sparkly - LOL maybe that's why they've done it - some twisted narcissistic fantasy!!

OP posts:
DearMrDilkington · 16/09/2018 18:29

Ugh that's so creepy, they've even copied your replies. Confused

Marie0 · 16/09/2018 18:45

DearMr

OMG have they really copied the replies? I only looked at the original posts - I'm not looking anymore - too weird!

OP posts:
Cantstopworryingaboutit · 16/09/2018 18:47

That's really weird Shock
