Is there much work out there for bookkeeper?

I am considering doing the online courses and qualifications for book keeping, starting from nothing basically.
My goal would be to work from home ideally....part time hours would be fine.
Is there much work out there for someone in my position?
Thanks in advance

I doubt it. With modern technology and numerous software packages it is easy to do it yourself. My secretary - who has no book keeping training but picked up this skills on the job- does ours very well, £1.3m turnover business

Doubt it, too. It's pretty easy to learn from software packages.

I don't think so either - software apps make it very easy these days to do your own whilst on the go. However, accountacy with tax advice and financial analysis would be a different matter.

Yes, but requires far more in the way of qualifications besides a few online courses Grin. A mate of mine is self-employed in such a fashion but it's not a 'part-time work from home with the kids' job, tbh. And she only moved to it after many years as an accountant - she's actually semi-retired.

The reality is that 90% of the time, working from home part-time because you have kids is a pipe dream unless you already have decent qualifications and/or experience/contacts in a field or you are running a business from similar or have a niche skill.
