Long story but my ex is residing in our old home. He was completely obstructive to my access to get my things, and had asked me to leave the furniture until he could arrange some of his own. Anyway, merrily shopping in my local charity shops today and to my complete horror found my furniture for sale. My ex had clearly given my furniture away.

yes wow! But completely at a loss as to what to do. Certain pieces I owned before I even met him :-(

Is there anyway you can get it back? I know that sounds bad as it's in a charity shop but I'm assuming you need it and he didn't have the right to give it away!

I'd ask for the charity shop manager, explain that they have been stolen from you and ask it your ex signed anything (gift aid) etc. Buy it back, get receipt etc. Then inform ex you saw the furniture in a charity shop and you've informed the manager that they were stolen goods. That unless he leaves and returns everything in good condition, you'll be involving the police.

My ex is in the home as was in an EA relationship and just left one night with the children, I could not afford the mortgage payments on my own and he did not want to leave so we agrees he would buy me out, however before he did he gave up his well paid job and is now not giving me anything for his children and the house needs to be sold.
I don't think the police will be interested as I cannot prove proof of ownership, these items are over 20 years old, and joint ownership on house. I]m just angry and upset and feeling completely helpless. I also don't want to upset my children. He is very good at manipulating people,
