Car parking scenario

Heavily pregnant I returned to my car with my two young children to see a truck parking up behind me. I was parked in a parking space he was parked across 3 cars 1 being mine in the car park in an area that said no parking. I kindly asked him would he mind moving as he was blocking me in. He wanted to know which car was mine to which I told him and he goes you've loads of room there. I put the two kids in the car and as it's a relatively new car it has parking assistance and rear cameras so I maneuvered out but no matter what angle I tried I was showing I was going to hit something. It's not my car it's my husbands company car so I didn't want to risk damaging it. I rolled down the window and explained to the guy who'd already started unloading pallets that I was really struggling to get out and could he move. He then started slagging me off to his mate about women drivers and started directing me out in a condescending way. At this point I lost it and got out of the car and told him to stop being a fcking d**khead and move the truck and the pallets so I can get out of the space safely. I never loose it so I'm pretty shaken. Would you have done the same? BTW if he'd had parked there and explained he was literally only dropping off something I would have been fine to wait.

He's an asshat! He should have moved and unacceptable to start winding you up with those comments, I'd have risen to it too and been short with him

'No, I can't reverse safely, your truck is in my way' SHOULD have been your response when he said no.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. As it is, YANBU. He's an idiot.

He is an arsehole. I would photo his truck and complain to his company.

WhateverHappenedToTheHeatwave · 15/09/2018 12:49

Whoops just seen you have left the area. Yes i would have been pissed off.

MissusGeneHunt · 15/09/2018 12:49

Can't blame you, I would have lost the plot with him too....

Sparklesocks · 15/09/2018 12:49

He sounds very rude and only thinking about his own needs.

Can you remember which company it was? I hate when men think it’s acceptable to treat female drivers as incompetent. I was reversing into a parallel parking space and it was right and when I got out of my car some genius said ‘you coulda got a bus in there I was going to start directing you!’ HmmConfused I have a very long stupid car and it was a tight space.
