To wish I wasn't single...

... but only now, while I've got a vomiting bug?
I think this is the absolute worst part of being a single parent. It's about the only time I wish there was another adult living here. Thank god DS only needed taking to and fetching from school today, and didn't mind having toast for his tea!
God, I hope I start feeling a bit more human again tomorrow.

I am with you on this. Last winter I was both ending on th3 toilet/sink, my three year old vomitting into a bucket and my 1 year olf stood in the bath covered head to toe in his sick having vomitted all over the floor in a desperate bid to stop the spread of his sick until I could move.

It is an utterly grim part of being a single parent.

I hope you’re ok Flowers I was a single parent when DS was little. One time I had a vomiting bug, and felt so weak I had to lie down in the garden while he played. He panicked and threw a bucket of sand over my face to revive me. We laugh about it now though!

I hope you feel better soon :(

Its horrible isnt it! I had a 6 week old, a 3 year old a 5 year old and a 6 year old and an horrendous sickness bug! was so relieved when it was over

DangerMouse17 · 14/09/2018 22:09

Yes it's so hard. I feel your pain OP. Last year both ds and I had a bug at the same time. We were pretty much vomiting in rotation...with me then having to try and wash out carpets and duvets in between.

Grim!

Hope you feel better soon OP. A few days with your ds having "easy" foods won't hurt at all. As long as he's fed it doesn't matter! Rest and take it easy. Flowers

Thanks everyone.
He's been an absolute little legend, bringing me water and asking if I'm okay. I think he's just grateful for all the extra screen time!
And from reading some of these experiences I'm just glad he hasn't thrown sand in my face! Grin
