To totally postpone kids birthday?

I have a nasty virus. Not sure what it is but I’m in a really bad state. One of my twins started sneezing this evening, I expect they’re next.

It’s their 2nd birthday on Sunday - have already cancelled the party as don’t want to make other kids sick. If it’s just me that’s sick, we will obviously go ahead with gifts and then no idea what to do as don’t want to spread illness round a soft play (which is I’m sure where we got it!)

If they’re sick, would IBU to postpone the whole shebang until next weekend, reschedule the party, do presents then etc? They have no clue when their birthday is obviously, but it just feels wrong!

Sounds like the sensible thing to do to me

They are 2, they won’t know, care, mind.
Get well soon

They're not going to know it's their birthday on Sunday unless you tell them.

Surely it's just common sense to postpone everything?

I think so too - but for some reason it feels mean not to celebrate on their birthday! I don’t know why because they have no idea when it is.

Even if I did tell them, they wouldn’t understand - they don’t understand much yet
