I usually work 3 days monday tuesday Wednesday

So on Tuesday morning I was feeling vile so rang up to say I wouldn’t be in due to illness and I was told that I was booked off on AL anyway Confused so after I took some medication and had a lie down then rung back up and spoke to my supervisor she confirmed my manager had booked me on annual leave without consultation Confusedwhat the hell I am so furious it beyond worlds

My daughter has a inset day on 3 weeks and now I have no fucking al left

Ok so luckily the starts aligned with me being ill and my boss booking me off on the Tuesday but Aibu to think this is a fucking Liberty of the highest order

My boss has form for this kind of shit she also booked me on a course while I was AL during the summer and didn’t tell me until the day I got back of Al then expected me to go with a weeks notice on a day I don’t usually work.

What? She can't just choose your leave for you without consultation.

1981fishgut · 13/09/2018 20:03

Being off sick isn't taking A/L I would not accept this

I know but I only expected one day because I was threatened with having my probation extended if I took a sick day

Go onto acas website. It’s illiga to make workers take annual leave for sickness.

1981fishgut · 13/09/2018 20:06

But I refused to take the other days and bloody went in

1981fishgut · 13/09/2018 20:07

I just want to leave now to be honest she is a bloody piss take

It’s low paid but I really love the people I work with but I won’t be having my rights trampled

Surely she can't do this legally? Have you checked yr contract re sick pay? I'd be tempted to go sick on the inset day! She sounds a right piece of work.

JagerPlease · 13/09/2018 20:10

Well even if you were down to be on annual leave (and no, I don't agree that they can put you on leave without telling you!), now you're off sick instead so you get your Al back

funnylittlefloozie · 13/09/2018 20:14

Do you think that your boss was trying (clumsily) to be helpful, by putting you down for A/L instead of a sick day, given you cant take sick at the moment?

1981fishgut · 13/09/2018 20:19

No I only found out I was booked off on AL because I rang in sick

One of my colleagues who answered the phone said well your not due in any way in the rota it’s says your on AL

I thought she had miss read but didn’t have the strength to talk more so after some rest and Medici rang back and talked to my supervisor and she confirmed I had been booked off on Al

So what would have happened if you'd gone in on Tuesday?

1981fishgut · 13/09/2018 20:36

Well excactly I presume they would of tired to send me home

I do cross about this is just out of order

Are you sure this wasnt just an admin error? If you hadnt been ill and had gone in what would have happened?
