I have been in my current job for under 2 years. The money is very poor but I am yet to find the confidence to move on to something else.

I have asked about a pay rise when I was given more responsibilities but was pretty much told there is no more money to give.

I was browsing a job site last night and lo and behold my job was on there! My exact job, everything I do.

My DP suggested that maybe they are looking for someone extra because we have been busy but there is literally no more room in the office.

One girl is going on maternity shortly but her job description is very different from mine.

I went to work this morning and made a comment that my DP had found my job on the job site. They all looked miffed and shrugged it off, saying maybe management are preparing for colleagues maternity leave.

So firstly, if I am taking over pregnant colleagues work, shouldn't they have told me before they advertised my job? Secondly if i am massively paranoid they are sacking me, are they allowed to advertise my job before doing so?

For the record I have not been given any indication that my job is not safe.

So, am I being rightfully worried or just completely overreacting?

Thank you

A very worried CoffeeFountain

Also, if I am taking over from pregnant colleagues role, what happens when/if she returns?

Someone else is doing my job!

Sorry to hear this. Sounds stressful!

I think there is only one way to know for certain and that is to ask.

CoffeeFountain · 13/09/2018 09:59

I guess so. Communication is extremely poor in my office though.
