Sleep trainer recommendations

Hi fellow Mums. I'm not sure if mumsnet is the right forum to ask for recommendations but I'll give it a shot! My friend is having a really rough time getting her 8 month old to sleep and is at her wits end. She's wondering about hiring a sleep trainer. She's not keen on the idea of leaving baby to cry but would be happy to try a gentler method (e.g. staying in the room while baby learns to self settle in cot etc). Could anyone recommend a sleep trainer who specialises in gentler methods? We're based in Lewisham, SE London. Thanks! Xxx

Look up the disappearing chair.

I do this to help with sanity but after a few months of on off perseverance my lo generally goes to sleep fairly quickly and stays asleep....

She didn't sleep through from arou d 4 months to 12 months.

Don't forget lo may not be sleeping properly because of teething, seperation anxiety or something else.
