I need to apologise. I have been a knob on several threads recently and upset a few posters. I won’t make excuses as that is of no use to the people I upset. I really am sorry. I’ve PMed those I know I upset and will apologise personally to anyone who gets in touch to say I have also hurt them. I will probably take a break from MN too. Or maybe just stick to the soap threads.

Sorry aspen. It’s a word commonly used on MN. It’s appropriate for this thread.

I don’t want to make this thread about me. I just wanted to acknowledge that I’ve been a prick and let people know that I know, and I won’t be again. And I’m sorry.

To be honest, firstly, you probably haven't been as awful as you think. But secondly, Mumsnet can be a handy barometer sometimes. I've been pulled up once or twice (or three or four times...) for being a patronising git and I was HORRIFIED. I mean, it was true, but I wasn't aware. It has made me pause and try to improve on that tendency, although it's entirely possible I'm still being a patronising git from time to time.

I think in the real world if you're doing something mildly cuntish, people will silently judge but not actually SAY. At least here people tell you out straight to get over yourself, which is definitely more helpful than silently hating you.

And I saw you on that chat thread this morning and you weren't a 'cunt' at all.

I wouldn't worry about it tbh. Some people take 'offence' far too easily in the first place; others might think 'well, that wasn't the best thing to post' and then put it out of their minds. Not worth losing sleep over.

You were a bit of a twat on some threads - but we’ve all been there (well, all of us normal people, not the saints obviously!) It’s nice of you to apologise, don’t stress about it. I assumed, due to your user name, you probably weren’t in a great place & frankly, it wasn’t all uncalled for.

I hope whatever has been making you feel so fucked off with the world sorts itself out. Obviously, if it’s the snowflakes, that’s not going to happen, learning to eyeroll really helps.

I’m disappointed MN have suspended you, hopefully it wont be for long. I don’t think you need to stay away, just stick to areas like ‘soaps’ and away from AIBU - which would test the patience of an actual saint.

Personally, I save that word for extreme circumstances - did you run over someone's dog? On purpose? Burn someone's house down? If not, you're probably good.

I have no idea what you have said, OP, but it takes guts to hold your hand up publicly to bad behaviour and say you are sorry. I have over reacted to threads as well in the past, been more silly and hysterical than a cunt (I hope) and as PP it made me pause for thought and actually THINK about what I was typing a lot harder before I pressed send in the future. I am sorry MN suspended you as you seem to be able to learn from your mistakes, unlike a true troll.

Disagree with this entirely, sometimes we fuck up, sometimes we behave badly and it's ok to admit we've behaved like a cunt. We're adults and not that sensitive here.
