Is it just me every second post is about "I know you won't read this " but if you "don't copy and paste this you won't be "fighting cancer" or some other justifiable reason to copy, paste, share and if you are a BAD person.

This smacks of my school days chain letters, but at least if you didn't send them you were still alive after midnight you knew it was over. These guilt shares go on for months.

YANBU. I don't do these on principle. Sheer idiocy, they achieve precisely nothing. Unless you count annoying your friends, of course... I tend to unfollow people who do it too often.

littlebillie · 10/09/2018 23:16

My lovely friend has just posted her second one of the week- why?!

OP posts:
9amtrain · 10/09/2018 23:25

Yanbu ugh I feel like telling them all to fuck off, like the heartwarming person I am.

shuthefrontdoor · 10/09/2018 23:58

Ugh don't get me started... share to show your support, share for a amen Hmm

LadyRussell · 10/09/2018 23:59

That one at the moment being trotted out about only 25 of your friends seeing your posts Hmm

thegreatbeyond · 11/09/2018 00:00

Anyone who has a heart will share...I know who they are... ;)

littlebillie · 11/09/2018 00:01

Beyond the guilt 😩

OP posts:
RandomChitchat · 11/09/2018 00:04

My real friends will share this
No, this is not the way I will prove my friendship. Regularly driving fours hours each way to spend a couple of hours with you while you were ill is a sign of my friendship. Being there for late night calls and all the other little things, that's what shows I'm a friend. Not posting your shitty, blackmailing chain message. Hate them

Cantthinkofabloodyname · 11/09/2018 00:15

I'm forever hiding the body messages.

Cantthinkofabloodyname · 11/09/2018 00:16

Bloody not body!

littlebillie · 11/09/2018 00:23

I find the throw away cancer/mental health "support" rather derogatory

^^ This.

I lose respect for any friend or acquaintance who shares this kind of nonsense.

CutesyUserName · 11/09/2018 10:05

Yep. They deserve to burn in hell along with fucking 'inspirational' posts and other such tripe.

specialsubject · 11/09/2018 10:21

they are chain letters. You are presumably not twelve. Ignore them.

MrsTennyson · 11/09/2018 10:26

I immediately unfollow anyone who posts this sort of “most people won’t care enough to repost” drivel. Correct, I don’t care, bye.

Dahlietta · 11/09/2018 10:29

I do find it odd how many of my friends who are otherwise intelligent, rational, kind, functioning human beings over the age of 12 share these things.

xJessica · 11/09/2018 10:30

I hate that one at the moment about only seeing the posts of 25 friends and to bypass the thing by copying and pasting....how is that going to even change anything?!! It just makes that your status! My FIL is bad for believing everything he reads on there, he did that one the other day and he also always shares all the ones about the clocks going forward/back when it's totally the wrong date and they're going the other way from what the post says! It gives me the rage Angry

TheHulksPurplePanties · 11/09/2018 10:31

I sincerely question the intelligence of anyone who posts these. You have to be a certain level of dim I think.

Feckitall · 11/09/2018 10:34

Dahlietta I don't get it, I know loads of these in RL competent functioning adults who the moment they go on FB share all sorts of bullshit...do brains dissolve when people logon? Confused

TrickyD · 11/09/2018 10:54

That stupid 25 friends thing is a hoax. I attach the Hoaxslayer link to it.

maxthemartian · 11/09/2018 11:00

How's this for a horrible one?

To really dislike "copy and paste" messages on FB
CanYouHearThat · 11/09/2018 11:11

I always assume the fb account has been hacked or hijacked when these appear apparently posted by my friends. Surely no sane, thinking person does it, whatever is the point in them?

Dahlietta · 11/09/2018 22:13

Feckitall, it's weird isn't it? I totally get the people on here who are saying this people must be idiots, but really, I know lots of people who do this who are truly nice, intelligent people!

Feckitall · 12/09/2018 06:41

Yep..I usually link to snopes...one even said ' I did wonder ' but she still shared rather than just take 1 minute to Google.. and not look like an idiot...

MaisyPops · 12/09/2018 06:46

Same with the ones that go:
Life is not just photos. Blah blah blah big paragraph of inspirational crap. To really connect with friends and see who reads a post even without a picture, comment below with one word about how we met/a good memory etx. Then copy and paste this to your wall. Don't just reply. Remember to share too
