To complain about this bus driver

Got the bus after work today. When I got to the stop there was one waiting, so I went to get on. As I walked up to the doors, the driver closed them in my face. I presumed he was going to drive off but he just sat for about 3 minutes, watching me.

Eventually he opened the doors. When I got on he looked me up and down in a leering way and said 'you're late'.

I can't be 'late' as it's a city centre bus services that operates every 5 minutes. I obviously would have just got the next bus.

One of the other passengers told him to stop being an idiot.

I'm sure that he was trying to be funny but it came across creepy as hell and the way he was openly checking me out was disgusting. This sort of thing really winds me up because I know he wouldn't have done it if I was a bloke instead of a young, quite attractive woman.

Wibu to complain?

Yanbu

I am holding myself back from thinking 'everyday sexism' but it's really made me mad

Yanbu. Most city centre buses have on board cctv so it's probably been recorded and should be easy enough for someone to look up if you put a complaint in (which I think you should).

daffodillament · 10/09/2018 20:56

What a twat ! Tweet the bus company, they prob won't do anything but you might feel better.

flumpybear · 10/09/2018 20:56

What a cock! Yes he deserves being hauled over the coals about that - Power tripping shit head! Angry

smallchanceofrain · 10/09/2018 21:09

YANBU. His behaviour was massively inappropriate. Even if he was trying to be funny, as opposed to just being a creepy jerk, it could have backfired very badly if he picked a vulnerable victim. What he did would have upset any woman but there are people who could have found it absolutely devastating - people with social anxiety issues, an ASD diagnosis, a learning disability etc. You need to complain.

Complain , that's creepy and weird

thewheelers · 10/09/2018 21:35

Maybe he was trying to be funny but I can't imagine him doing the same if I was a 50 year old bloke!

why hold back? It IS everyday sexism. Would definitely complain to the company.
