Hi everyone,
I currently have 2 jobs. One job I absolutely love and the other one has fantastic conditions but the actual day to day work bores me to tears!
I have always had a slightly irrational obsession with the underground/DLR/general London transport (geeky, I know)
The history, the mechanics of how it all works, I always end up directing confused tourists around the network when I'm out and about. (Again, I am a bit of an anorak)
Anyway, I would love to hear from people who actually work for TfL/relatives of those who do. The day to day realities of it, the conditions. From the outside it looks like an employer which would support career progression etc, something my current employer severely lacks
The job that I am bored to tears by, is very 9 - 5 esque...what are the shift patterns like working for TfL? I have this dreamy notion of me starting out from the bottom but being able to progress (with training obviously) to tube driver or similar
My 9 to 5 is very office based and I am going crazy being stuck behind a desk! Aibu to leave a very decent employer (I am looked after very well/I have security/safety to a career in TfL when I don't actually know anything practical about day to day working with the company.
Thank you for reading
