To be really disappointed in a totally reasonable wedding invite

Plenty of notice. Only an hour away. On a weekend. Children welcome.
Several options for affordable nearby accommodation and taxi companies included.
I got excited as there was a poem, but it was a poem asking for no gifts, and if people did want to gift could they make a charity donation instead.

I want ridiculous gift lists and Maui ffs!

She's probably using up her allocation of Bridezilla points by driving the bridesmaids crazy with unreasonable expectations of hair colour, dress colour, uncomfortable shoes and a bridal party choreographed dance involving ostrich feathers , flossing and twerking.

Nooo this would upset me too! I LOVE buying presents for other people and browsing gift lists!!

ForalltheSaints · 07/09/2018 18:55

How lovely of a couple getting married to think of others and suggest a charity donation.

OP YABU.

SpottingTheZebras · 07/09/2018 18:56

YANBU. Was it posted on April Fool’s Day and been delayed?

PositivelyPERF · 07/09/2018 18:59

She must be a Mumsnetter. It’s the only possible explanation. She’ll be starting a new thread. “AIBU to be upset that a test is publicly slating my wedding invite?” 😁

PositivelyPERF · 07/09/2018 19:00

Guest, not *test. 😳

checkingforballoons · 07/09/2018 19:01

Surely the very fact that they’ve denied you the opportunity to start a ‘CF wedding invite’ thread makes them CFers?

amusedbush · 07/09/2018 19:03

How disappointing! SadGrin

DaphneDiligaf · 07/09/2018 19:04

I wouldn't go, sounds suspicious! 😉

Saints I was obviously being tongue in cheek.
I wanted the opportunity to laugh at a ridiculous invite it’s been denied to me

I'm looking at a distant family member's wedding gift list right now. Hair straighteners anyone?

They'll be getting a goat.

grumiosmum · 07/09/2018 19:40

But will there be a pay bar?

Or begin bridesmaids?

Surely it's too early to pass judgement OP...

grumiosmum · 07/09/2018 19:40

begging not begin, FFS.

Ruins my joke
