Disrespectable and impatience drivers !

Sorry but i am so angry !.
I've never posted on here but a daily reader to what others say on here though.
Okay AIBU to expect drivers to have respect and patience on the road !!.
I'll try and keep this short :).
I live on a narrow residential road where there is parking in on both sides of the road. There is only enough room for one flow, up or down the road, meaning traffic both ways have to give way to each other by pulling in a bit inbetween parked cars as there is not enough room for a two way flow.
This road is pretty much like a rat race with the cars speeding up and down all the time, worse even still in rush hour. You see i live just next to/parallel a main high street and they use this road as a cut through so not to have to wait for lights etc in the high street as that gets rather busy.
Anyway i have two children both with Autism, one who has it severe that he does not like noise etc.
My anger is that on a daily basis they are picked up by transport to take them to their school (both attend an ASD one). The bus has to stop outside in the road as to pick them up, i am always waiting there ready as the bus turns into the road so not to keep the bus waiting etc. These drivers instantly honk there horn (which is extremely upsetting for one of my dc), shout abuse..swearing at the driver to move so they can pass and even shout insulting comments about the disabled children on the bus. It is really depressing me that none of these drivers have any decency about them towards these sweet children on the bus. AIBU to asking them politely to wait a minute..bus is only there less than a minute so they can put his harness on. Like i said this is twice daily ,5 days a week..school just started back this week and it back the same a before they broke up and there is nothing i can do about it.
Sorry rant over now !

Presumably the bus is always the same time. Could you ask the Police to send out a PCSO to have a word. The drivers are idiots.

ExtraTezza · 07/09/2018 16:31

That’s really horrible OP

Even if they’re in a rush, there’s no need for that behaviour. Rant away, it always helps a tad :)

YeTalkShiteHen · 07/09/2018 16:35

My eldest gets his ASN transport to school and I’d be absolutely raging if anyone was so horrid and nasty. It must be awful for you and your children OP, and the other bairns on the bus too.

I like the idea of a PCSO, and in future if you feel happy to, I’d take pics or note their registration number and contact the police.

Screaming and swearing at a load of kids with ASN because you need to wait for what, a minute? Maybe 2 on a slow day? There aren’t words for the kind of people they are!

8mommy8 · 07/09/2018 18:50

Thank you all for your kind words.
The PCSO sounds like a very good idea, thanks.
Most of all the drivers on these buses get abuse on a daily basis on most of their routes they say. It’s disgusting & heartbreaking that the children have to witness & put up with this sort of hate & verbal attack daily.

That’s terrible! Angry I second the PCSO idea but it’s awful that it’s needed. Sad

recklessruby · 08/09/2018 13:48

What a heartless bunch of twats! I live on a road like that too and it's hell in the mornings just to get over the road to my car.
I don't think talking to these idiots would work tbh but the psco sounds a good idea.
Who can't wait for some children to get on a bus? Your poor dc. I d be raging too.

ForalltheSaints · 08/09/2018 13:51

Contact the police. They should not have a licence in my view.

ShrodingersSturdyPyjamas · 08/09/2018 13:56

If they are shouting abuse, put your phone on to record, and if they start shouting abuse, walk around to where they are, and announce on the recording the car reg number with a description of the driver and repeat what they just said. Then start sending the recordings to the police.
